I feel your pain... It can be REALLY discouraging to see your kids fall to the influences of well intentioned others. Keep giving what you can to those who will listen...

I like how you worded this "influences of the well intentioned." They are just doing what they think is best.

Why is nobody defending HE in this discussion. There seem to be practitioners among the ranks of pitching instructors, but no defenders?

I doubt you'll find anyone around here who will defend HE.

No one defends it because it isn'the correct. End of story.

It rolls along the same lines as hitting instructors still teaching squish the bug, level shoulders, ect.... what these instructors do, to include PC's who teach HE, is fail themselves and their students because they are too lazy to do research on new techniques and teaching methods.

Seen it way too many times....

Very true. This is the case 99.9% of the time. Good post.

Between DD's two team schedule and her PC's business and team schedule, I could not get her in for lessons in May and looked the same for June. This time of year is important so I would like to have somebody working with her and at the very least another voice than just mine. :) We ran across a recent D1 grad who had the strikeout record for her college. I sent her a video of my 10 year old to see if she wanted to work with her on an interim basis. She was excited to work with DD after the video. I told dd she would be a "celebrity, guest, PC" until we could get back with her regular one whom she really likes.

We see the new one and pretty quick she is mentioning that DD is not behind the ball. Her hand is not on top of the ball etc etc. She is really a nice lady and I am getting ready to apologize that this is not going to work when she suddenly agreed to leave this aspect of her motion alone. Since then she has improved her drive mechanics, posture at release and tweaked her CU grip. She then tweaked dd riseball grip and gave her a different release cue and now dd throws darn near a 12/6 ball in full motion which I have never seen her do before. She does not have the velocity for it to do anything since she is mid to high 40's, but it looks really good and I could see this being something special in a few years. She called dd a natural with the riseball and was absolutely giddy about it, which really pumped up dd. :)

I would love to have a Balswick, Pauly, Hillhouse, Java etc in my back yard. Maybe I do and just don't know about them yet. :) Like Ken said there are folks that are well intentioned. I have ran into them as well, some just aren't going to work out, but most have something to give. I think there are many aspects to the motion, and people that can help, if they are managed properly.

Why is no one around here defending ISIS?..... Now do you hear yourself? Sounds ridiculous when said out loud, doesn't it?

I think he's kind of making a point in a joking way. There are so many HE instructors out there, yet we don't hear a peep out of them here. That's because they'd be defending the undefendable. Also because coming here would actually mean they're seeking out new information, which does not seem to be the pattern among HE PCs.
