It's an awesome thing to actually see the lights go on in an 8 YO who wants to pitch. My 8U team has 4 or 5 "never pitched before" girls who want to pitch. I remembered something that BM said on this site about teaching a newbie pitching (at least I think it was him...). Something to the effect of "you can't learn how to pitch until you learn how to throw underhanded". With my newbies, that's what I've been doing - telling them "all your doing is playing catch underhanded with the catcher". Thanks BM - this one little phrase has made a HUGE difference.
