It's an awesome thing to actually see the lights go on in an 8 YO who wants to pitch. My 8U team has 4 or 5 "never pitched before" girls who want to pitch. I remembered something that BM said on this site about teaching a newbie pitching (at least I think it was him...
). Something to the effect of "you can't learn how to pitch until you learn how to throw underhanded". With my newbies, that's what I've been doing - telling them "all your doing is playing catch underhanded with the catcher". Thanks BM - this one little phrase has made a HUGE difference.
