Hi all,
I am investing in a Scarborough Power Drive for the team. I would also like to buy one of the pitching mats (Jenny Finch, I believe) but it's out of my budget and my wife would have me sleeping on it, next to the dog. Does anyone have one of these mats they are no longer using? Or a couch I can crash on for a while, until the wifey cools down?
thanks!

This is what we use.

3x5 Jr. Green Softball Pitchers Mound from All Turf Mats.

3' x 5' Jr. Green Softball Pitchers Mound With Power Strip

It's been very solid for 2 years with a 10u. Folds/rolls up easy and light weight. It stays in the back of my Jeep and we pull it out a couple times a week for cage pitching practice.
My only issue is that she strides beyond the mat. It's no big deal, but if your DD is older.... that's something to consider.

OK, let me be more specific here. I "discovered" the Equipment Forum and I'm not seeing a lot of love for the Powerdrive. BUT, I'm indoors from January until mid March and I can't nail a pitching rubber to the gym floor. So, Powerdrive? Any other ideas for indoor pitching practices?

I would pass on the Powerdrive, DD has used it and I don't think it does anything (especially for her since she slides her pivot foot along the rubber before she strides). I second the pitching mat (or make one). The nice thing about a mat is you can roll it up and store it after use. In a gym, can you duct tape a rubber to the floor maybe? Sounds like you only have a few weeks, so even pitching in tennis shoes without a rubber is probably fine, temporarily.

I agree the power drive is not worth it. However, if you just have to have one, I'll sell you my power drive we've only used it a handful of times in three years.

About 4 years ago, I found 3' x 8' turf remnant online relatively cheap and also bought a pitching rubber and screwed it to the turf. This has held up well and still using it. It cost me around $80. I chose to make one as it thought it would be nice to have a longer mat. It rolls up nice for storage and use bungee strap to secure it if we need to haul it to practice or scrimmage.

We also have a power drive and use it over the winter months. Overall my DD likes it and use it with our workouts.
