Would love to get my DD a lesson next time you are in Chicago, let us know!!

That's because Jennie doesn't pitch the way she talks in videos. She doesn't actually do the HE and Slam the door. Watch her slow mo pitch in a video with what is being "taught" then watch her throw in a game (try Youtube), the difference is so obvious people with glaucoma can see it.

I come to Chicago quite a bit for lessons, I'd like to get this coach's info so I can go get a lesson from him/her. :)

textbook spin!

I think that some kids naturally associate "power" with the shoulder,
and some do not.

Coupled with a "shoulder over rotator" is also commonly "late IR",
and a release well-forward of the rear hip.

Speaking from experience: This is a tough one to crack....

Thank you for suggestion, I agree and will continue to work for that(I showed her in slow motion how she resembles Ueno with the loose release). Now that she realizes her I/R wraps her arm around the body when it gets close and doesnt slam it against her, she is working to keep her hips stacked.

I don't recall reading anything on the shoulder follow through, I see it but what suggestion do you have to cure it. Many thanks.

Balswick videos should help with ideas on how to fix that.

Bill, can't agree more. I also can't emphasize enough that you were the catalyst to my understanding of the proper way to pitch. Once I found DFP (you mentioned in one of your YouTube conferences) I did gravitate to the detailed explanations from BM and Java, and always referred to the Hansen principal. It amazes me how PCs and players alike don't know that what they teach is nothing like what they do, at least with the HE proponents.

Finch was the poster child of this for me. Watching these videos to see what it actually looks like and reading the detail from this site on how to do it has made all the difference. Thanks again.

I'd show her the video and ask her if she can feel the shoulder follow through. See if she can minimize it on her own and help out if needed with feedback. I'm ok with follow through later on, but want to make sure she's really feeling the whip and not forcing it.

Ken I believe at this point we are forcing it a bit. She always told me she was brushing so I bet her that the video would tell me the truth. She started doing it so I wouldn't be able to call her a liar. So now she at least knows the feeling and in a full swing will know what's missing. I will be asking for help as well on the butt out 3rd base lean.

Two suggestions, Ken? I think that's four...or am I just seeing double? ;)

She looks good. Teaching a kid to throw is an obstacle... and you are doing very well. Kudos.

Java, I forgot to give you kudos to all you do. It has been a great experience reading and learning from you. Thanks for all the help.
