Dude! How are ya? Did little Chapter verbal to UCLA yet? ;) You still arguing with the home boys over at BBD?

Nice of you to say hi buddy......
Long time!!! I was curious if you were still around, and then I come across this farewell nonsense. The little guy has his sights set on Annapolis. He's grown into an exceptional young man. I could not be prouder.

No more arguing for me. SB and I had a yearlong blowout that took a lot out of the both of us. I come here and try to help when I can.

I have to give you credit BM. You were right on a lot of things. I wasted a lot of time arguing with you, but you never quit on me. I now pay that forward when I can.

You take care buddy, and enjoy the golf!

I hope you all understand that this isn't a "farewell". What I was trying to convey is.....Please refrain from sending people my way for "Lessons".......I'm not in the pitching coach "business" anymore.

I will ALWAYS BE A PITCHING COACH......I'm just not "in the business" anymore. Anyone can ask me anything, and I'll try to respond to the best of my knowledge. And I'll even meet with anyone looking for a quick opinion or suggestions.

But I don't do "lessons" anymore, so please don't recommend me to anyone as "A Pitching Coach"......I spend to much time in my PM box telling people I don't do lessons anymore. So if you could help spead that word, I can spend more time reading and responding to threads.......

There are still a few people out there waiting for an "opinion" on clips of their kids. I just haven't had time to give them the proper amount of attention for a worthy response. I'll get there eventually........

Carry On!!!

I have become a true believer.

Saw a girl pitching...her arm circle timing was messed up, her leg drive was messed, she was "swimming", and she had no brush interference. I was expecting the ball to come out at about 45MPH. Then around 9, the ball came up, and she finished with great IR. The ball exploded out of her hand. Obviously, she needs to fix that other stuff, but I'm convinced that a good pitching motion is built around IR.

Thanks!

BM, I swung the golf clubs today trying to make a point about the mental aspect of the game. Played myself into trouble to demonstrate how to manage the course and be mentally strong when forced to play for bogey instead of par. I have not played in almost 3 years because I have to have my hip replaced. Anyway, man it was a blast. I understand you wanting to get out on the course and enjoy that. I'm getting back into the fray with regards to HS softball. I intend to have more fun this time around. If I make it out that way, you bet we're golfing.

Take care,

Darrell

Hey Darrell! Wow I love hearing from guys like you and Chap just to say hello. You and I go back a ways don't we? I'm happy to hear your doing your first or second U turn on coaching the game. I did that a few times myself as you know.

People ask me all the time to return to the HS position or take on another gold team. I gotta tell ya......You'll know when your done. You just don't have the passion to head out for practice EVERY DAY anymore. Doesn't mean you lose the passion for making players better. You just can't stand the thought of packing and unpacking the gear anymore. Or spending 8 to 10 hours a day at lessons.

Anyway, glad to hear you got out to play golf also. Being obsessive compulsive about everything I do has gotten my handicap down to 1.7. And just like softball, when you that good at something it's a friggen blast to go out and do it. That's a lot of the reason I've stopped doing lessons. I love it so much that I know if I start again, I'll be all in with tons of students and no time for me. Or golf.

Your So RIGHT ON about this time having more fun in the coaching role. It will make you a better coach having been in the trenches as a super serious coach, and then using all that knowledge to create a fun environment for your students to learn. It's been my experience that those are the very best coaches. The ones who've dedicated years to the highest levels in really serious environments, and then the light bulb comes on and you suddenly realize that you have nothing to prove to anyone. You can just relax and create a super positive environment for your kids, and still give them the benefit of your vast high level knowledge. I'll bet you that Rick Pauly knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Thx for saying hello. It was really nice hearing from you my friend.

All the best to you and yours. Tell DD I said hi also.

Has anyone else noticed that BM stopped posting around the time OILF also stopped? A conspiracy theorist would wonder if OILF was actually just an antithesis created by BM to make the site more interesting(tongue in cheek).
