The first warmup suggested for pitching is the whip flip. Here is a video of my daughter with the wonderfully pleasant and knowledgable Rick Pauly.

I'm just thrilled he got in the word "internal rotation" minutes into the lesson. You know your DD is in good hands.

There are no words to describe how jealous I am right now.

Jealousy aside, I'm very happy your daughter is getting that kind of quality instruction!

Was wondering if anyone was going to refer to the action as "pronation".

Why bother? Internal rotation covers the entire sequence. Pronation only covers what happens from the elbow to the wrist. The humerus starts the sequence as moving from externally rotated to internally rotated. Internal Rotation of the humerus is not referred to as pronation.

So while it would be totally incorrect to refer to the entire sequence as pronation, it is entirely correct to refer to all actions in the sequence as internal rotation. Because pronation is the act if internally (medially) rotating the forearm. Therefore, both the humerus and forearm are internally rotating.

Internal rotation is a universally acceptable term for the entire sequence.

That's why I used it to start this whole revolution of understanding whip vs. push.
