My DD is having wrist pain. It started two weeks ago. It is her pitching wrist. It hurts on top in the middle. it hurts only when she goes up and down NOT side to side. Also, when I push the her hand towards her forearm, the wrist hurts.

Has anyone's DD had this problem and if so what is it and how did you solve this pain.

Yes, my daughter had wrist pain list year, likely from pitching a little too much, while at the same time learning new pitches (those requiring wrist rotation). Diagnosed as tendinitis. Treatment was rest and physical therapy. She still does wrist exercises to avoid re-occurrence. Good luck.

Thank You. I hope that is it. We are going to see a doctor tomorrow, so the more knowledge I have the more questions I can ask.

Could you tell the exercises you did. And what else you did.

Martians- will you let us know what the diagnosed is. My daughter complained of her wrist hurting. We have been done with the season for 2 weeks and she said it feels fine now. She was working with developing a curveball, so I felt it was that and overuse. She will be done pitching until October but she will be doing exercises to strengthen her wrist(squeezing tennis ball, rubberband exercises). Hope all goes well with your DD.

The Dr.(PA) said it was either tendonitis or wrist sprain. Rest for two weeks. Take Aleve twice a day. He gave us a sheet of the exercises we are to do, in moderations, during that two weeks. But, he also said we need to see an Occupational Therapist for exercise we do on are own, or come in on a regular bases.

We have an appointment set up for the hand and wrist specialist on 9/11/15.

DD pitching coach stopped her from doing wrist flips saying it was a waste of time. He has her utilize a device called a forearm developer which IMO helps develop the wrist and forearm. I purchased one at Kmart for $15.00.
