I think she was referring to me as the PC who isnt helping.. which I cant disagree with. Last fall was her first softball experience so the first lesson was 'this big ol' thing is a softball' and in this sport the pitchers throw underhand. She couldnt throw the ball underhand 15'.

I know she needs professional coaching which I am seeking out. If anyone knows a good PC in Sacramento or surounding areas, shoot me the contact info. In the meantime we'll keep seeking advise and working.

Seems the PC advocates the "hewwo ebbow"...

I know you posted the video as a joke. It is funny. Thank you.

But...seriously...your DD has some talent for pitching. She has a lanky and loose arm, so she could be pretty good. Please post a video of her and we can help

My advice: She also needs to stop walking forward after she releases the ball.

you have two of the best around up there "kinda" close. I would recommend Rich Balswick out of the east bay-or BoardMember (don't know his real name or exact location...just PM him). you can reach Rich at balswickfastpitch.com. 90 minute drive? But well worth a monthly trip to have the best instruction.

Sluggers-

Ive notified the PC, her PC services will no longer be needed. She will continue to be our cameraman and ive negotiated a deal to make her our sports psychologist.

Lil' is a good athlete. Goalkeeper on her co-ed soccer team and PG on the basketball team, she sings solo in church, studentbody pres last year in 6th grade and foremost an excellent student. Im one proud papa! I know when she receives proper pitching instruction she will be a decent pitcher. Ive told her many times over the years that softball is a game of adjustments. I think her walking forward is due to her poor posture and pushing the ball. JJS gave me a good drill for working on balance/posture which quickly gave her an intro to IR More vids to follow. Thank you for the encouragement!

Checked out Mr. Balswick. From the videos he seems to be an excellent teacher and obviously very knowlegeable of his craft. Ill be reaching out to him soon. Ill contact boardmember as well to see where he is located.

Thanks for the contact info!

Always fun to see the progression...keep up the good work that front side resistance is probably helping her out a lot.

Looks like she traded a little of the forward lean for a sideways lean get rid of that then you will have brush along with that front side resistance...the stand straight and tall cue from years ago is still a good one; it's actually always good at any level

Probably weren't looking for the critique but can't help myself.

Always looking for critique DJ. This aint the parent brag forum ;)

Looking to get some brush. She has thrown a few balls off her front knee which has made her leaning forward/side be more pronounced. A member gave me a few drills to help with posture so we will continue to work on that.

Thanks DJ

It's pretty common for pitchers to think they have to get out of the way and let their hand go through without touching anything but the opposite it true. just a couple pics to demonstrate
