DD & I have witnessed the same thing. Really crappy circles from the rockies back here to the midwest. Right/wrong or good/bad DD does not do too well with crappy circles that induce instability (DD gotz little feet and her center of gravity is not as low as many pitchers).

DD played in a Showcase in the southeast this past weekend. On one of the fields the pitching plate and homeplate so far out of alignment that what would have been a meat pitch down the middle of the plate was actually an inside pitch on a rh batter. no one seemed overly concerned about it so DD adjusted her powerline.
