slather it on? or a little goes a long way?

DD has a blister on side of finer near the nail.
heard that superglue can protect and toughen and prevent from getting worse.

any advice for how, how much, and how often to apply?

thanks!

We used "liquid skin" from CVS.
Other option is to soak fingers in pickle juice to toughen skin.

Apply a drop, once. If that doesn't help, a lot more is not going to either. Pitchers should get a manicure regularly, either at home or at the salon. It will save them some pain later on. I wore fake nails, for probably 15 years, when I coached teams daily. They saved my real nails a few times.

Get the superglue from a hobby store or a wood working store. You want the thicker consistency. Nail glues and general super glues are thin and brittle. They wear off quickly and depending on the thinner used can heat up and cause additional burning on the raw skin.

The thicker stuff cures cooler and is far more durable. You can also get an accelerator that can make the curing time less than 30 seconds.

thank you for the advice.

picked up some loc-tite superglue from a CVS pharmacy.
you mention it being brittle - would a glue like Plio-bond be a better choice?

her blister is a small blood blister (maybe 1/8" in diameter at most) along the inside of her index finger beside the nail. hasnt ripped and isnt "raw" but is sensitive to pressure. I just want to get something on there that will prevent it from ripping, or getting worse.

Our last tournament one of my DD's nails was pulling away from the skin from throwing her rise. I was going to use Superglue but then remembered the liquid bandage we had gotten for another cut and used that instead. Seemed to work pretty well. We did need to reapply mid-game though and then in the middle of the following game but she threw a LOT of pitches with it. May pick up some of the glue referred to above though.
