Looks to be outside the 24 inches at times... but if it works for her... good for her.[/QUOTE]

I was thinking the same, that's the only thing I saw that may be a problem, but I've seen many other pitchers do this too. (Outside 24in)
I agree if it works for her great! I also like that Auburn has the balls to play somebody that's doing something so outside what's considered normal. It looks pretty interesting. I would like to here her story, how she decided to change and why because it looks like she didn't always pitch this way.

Need her to pitch to Alex Bredan from Univ. Of South Alabama. She starts completely square to the mound and strides closed.

She is pitching for Auburn so must have done something right. I head her style was created to correct a mechanic issue she had before. I showed my daughter and she thought it was cool because some one was thinking outside the box (or circle).

I've never seen this girl pitch other than this gif on my phone. It's a little choppy, grainy, and of course small. It looks to me on my phone that she's hiking her leg, then setting it down, then going into a more traditional stride. After I saw it on the laptop I see she never replants. This is why it's not an IP.... just a very different looking load.
She's got to be doing a lot more things right than wrong to play at this level. I'd love to see an interview with her and her pc explaining why she's doing this....

Doesn't the pitcher have to start square to home plate?

Every rule set I am familiar with except NCAA requires the pitcher to start with the shoulders in line with 1st and 3rd base. The pitching rules in college are essentially the same as every other rule set, but for whatever reason they left out the portion I mentioned. From what I read, Auburn submitted video of her using that motion to the rules interpreter to make sure it was legal before she used it in a game.

So if anyone wanted to emulate it they would have to wait to college?

I was aware of the shoulders rule in the youth rule sets, I was curious about it in NCAA but was to lazy to look it up... While they are at it they should also eliminate leaping :)
