Every year I develop a bruised hand; catching for the bigger kids when no other catcher is available. It takes a few weeks for it to heal and this year I've decided I'm done. I've stopped by the LSGS's with no luck in finding a FP mitt big enough for my XXL sized hands... Any suggestions on a plus-sized catchers mitt?

Thanks,
Ken

You might want to try an evoshield thumb guard. I have also had some luck using weather stripping to stuff the pointer finger slot of the glove, and kept my finger outside the glove.

I wear an Xprotek Fielders glove inside a Akadema Praying Mantis Catchers glove. Good glove and good extra protection.

I recently picked up the XPROTEX glove and it works very well. It's just a tremendous struggle to get my gloved hand into my 14 inch Rawlings glove... A real catchers glove is years over due...

No wonder you have a bear paw as your avatar! Please don't tell me you're a Bengals fan.

Louisville Slugger makes a 34" fastpitch catchers mitt specifically designed for a man's larger hands. It's called the "Big Daddy"
The finger stalls could be a touch bigger imo, but it's the best option I've found. It's only about $80, and is surprisingly durable for the low cost. I've had mine for about 4 years now and have caught kids ranging from 8-18 and it's still holding up great.

All-Star CM3000KM knuckle ball mitt. 35" for a bear paw ! It does cost more than the "big daddy" though. I have a All-Star mitt and a dad at our school just ordered his DD who catches in MS an All-Star. Very high quality mitts.
