DD usually plays pretty good on the 1st day of a 2 day tournament, but I noticed that on the 2nd day, she seems to run out of gas. DD's mound time varies but that's just my general observation.

Would having her do endurance/cardio exercises (like skipping rope) be beneficial?

yes. i make sure she stays hydrated and she's learned her lesson last year when she had a severe headache during warm ups on a 90+ degree day.

i also make sure she does get enough sleep, but these 8:30 games are tough since DD has to be there at 7:30 and travel time is an hour or so so wake up time is about 5:30.

What type of food does she eat on Saturday? DD's first year of TB we spent way too much time at the concession stand and learned our lesson. We also limit the amount of Gatorade by alternating with water.

that's something we've started to watch last year. over an hour before games, she can eat stuff like pizza, but close to game time, we minimize the quantity and type of food. not sure what the right combo should be, but less carbs like bread. she eats cheese sticks, yogurt, fruit and gatorade.
can't be too full.

Typically, how many innings does she pitch on Saturday and how many on Sunday when she starts running out of gas?

She's 14 and in MS?

yep 14 and MS. her mound time varies. she usually gets to pitch 2-3 innings per game. DD's team has 3 pitchers and coach likes to rotate them so they don't get burnt.

depending on how her team does, if they keep winning on saturday, then it's a late night. but even if they go home early on saturday, it almost always sunday's she doesn't show as much ergs as the day before.

My DW has her doing skip rope to up her endurance- while skip rope is good, i thought planks and bands were better exercises, albeit targeting different things.

i can't seem to put a finger on what it is. sleep? food? conditioning?

DD has a tourny this weekend. any suggestions what to and not to do?

Specifically what does that mean? Is she running out of energy over time? Is she crashing? Does it vary depending on time of day? Weather? Long break between games? Back to back games? It may be beneficial to keep a journal of sleep patterns, game times, and food and drink intake and see if you notice a trend or common element. Also when is the last time she had a blood workup?
