Have her work on "pawing" back against the pitching plate (Javasource style) rather than take that little step. Aside from getting her legal, she will generate a more explosive drive forward. I think the grippy and springy rubber mat gives the illusion that she's got something firm she's pushing against. It won't be that way pushing in the dirt.

If she absolutely has to keep that move with her front foot where she goes to her heel, I think I'd start that foot just a hair further back. Then she'd be more inclined to be pushing against the front edge of the plate when she drives out. However, I prefer Javasource's foot-slide with associated on-point as the pitcher takes her weight back.

Before I gif'd her...my initial reaction was that she has no lean...lean will get her moving back while driving forward...CP
