Say, I remember Boardmember was going to post video of him gripping and throwing the two seamer. Did I miss it or it hasn't happened yet?

Btw, when my pitchers can throw the 4 seam FB fairly well and consistent I then have them work the same pitch with 2 seams. You can see the smiles when cuts for them. Doesn't always work but when it does it's a beautiful thing. Some end up liking better than the 4 seam.

I have been wanting to try two seam pitches for a while. We experimented with them a while back but DD was uncomfortable with them and they caused her to lose a good amount of speed so we tabled it. Yesterday i got a wild hair and I searched the forum on Two seam pitches and found a lot of misinformation. The two seam pitches do not move because of spin, they move because of a pressure gradient caused by one side of the ball being relatively smooth while the other side is rough because the seams are to the wind. The ball will break in the direction of the seams.

For those of you that have DDs that can throw a 4 seamer with the slightly off axis 12-6 rotation, have her throw the same pitch as a two seamer and see if it cuts in. The physics at work here is the same as what occurs in swing bowling in cricket. It is also the same thing that makes knuckleballs move and why some describe two seamers as being unpredictable...

Try it and see what you get.

We tried it yesterday and had some very good results for a first effort, got balls to break in and out. DD was really having fun with them this time.

I am sure there are folks (Riseball) who have DDs using this pitch at a high level. Please chime in so we get the benefit of your experience seeing it used live.

Yea... I like how you typed that. I been tryin to tell you guys this for a couple years. I have stuck to the two seam pitch from the get go....even when a Big Time & everyone of DD's coaches tries to tell me I have the tape on the ball wrong. JJ your almost there...

EP: You really want to see more....every pitch I have ever posted of DD pitching is 2~SEAM...

EP: Woops...re-read....Not sure if this is a high enough level for you or not...

Sorry, you are wrong. There is no difference in movement between a 4 seam pitch and a 2 seam pitch.

There is a difference in the batters perception. The difference is perceptual psychology, not physics.

When the pitchers and their parents (now email is how you advertise to your HS coach!) tell me about 2 and 4 seamers I know they either come from baseball or just want to claim they have 4-5 or whatever pitches. They never actually have them. No consistent difference between the two that I have seen. Sometimes I have consistently seen the opposite of the intended result.

Now if adults with time to practice and with long fingers want to play around with stuff and perfect it, more power to them.

You slammed parents but did not manage to work in the anti man angle. You are slipping.

People who have actually been there and done it know better.
