So my daughter is making the switch to 12u this year, and when she starting working with the 12" ball, she started curving the ball over her head on her rotation instead of keeping her arm straight..

So her coach recommended going back to the basics, and breaking down each part. Looks like we are doing good now, just need to add the leap back in.

Took a couple videos the other day, just wanted to get a few more sets of eyes on it...and take any advise you guys have.

Triton- You have been a member here for some time, I am curious if you have read the I/R sticky threads or the Drive Mechanics thread? I ask because the mechanics she has been taught are significantly different than what is generally taught on this board. It looks like she has learned well because her motion is pretty clean, but it is like having a well tuned 4 cylinder motor in a car. It runs nice, but will never get the speed of a well tuned 8 cylinder. The good news is that she is young enough to change motors but I would start the replacement in the near future.

triton, is her PC asking her to keep her arm straight all the way throughout the circle then follow through with elbow toward catcher?

Triton-

Here is a clip of our resident blueprint child for a pitcher roughly this age. if you look at the differences between her and your daughter you will have a good sense of where to start.

now I get It, If my DDs are struggling at practice I don't need to look at her mechanics,I just need to check to see if any plug wires are disconnected or maybe some moisture in the distributor cap.:)

Moving up to the 12inch ball should have little to no negative effects on her pitching mechanics. I know you say these videos are just drills but I do not see much explosiveness from her (whether or not these are drills) and she is essentially HE pitching, doesn't get any real arm whip. She should be throwing hard, even when doing drills. I would seriously consider the "Drive Mechanics" and "IR in the Classroom" threads as guidance. Your DDs PC may not be the right choice for her unfortunately? I have seen (paid for) these type of PCs and in the long run, it will stifle her development.
