More like a brain fart on my end. I just realized that I was part of this conversation... ;) Thanks for putting up with my confusion... catching at clinic is hurting my perspective of a clock.

I was scratching my head at your earlier post, but I kept my mouth shut. Wait until you are my age. A "brain fart" takes on a whole new meaning, and I'm only 55.

I just realized that I was part of this conversation... ;)

Now that made me laugh out loud........Because that's exactly how I feel sometimes when my wife speaks to me.

Her: "Did you hear a word I just said?"

Me: "What Honey? I wasn't really paying attention. I'm on DFP right now."

That is very close to the spin my DD's fast ball has ??? I can not get that spin I so want to see your video so I can understand how she is getting it :)

D, this is from the pitchers view and I think you said your DD's spin is off-axis to the left from the catcher's view. If so, she's throwing her fastball correctly...it would be on the 1-7 axis.

When I throw it it is on a 1-7 axis When my DD throws it is closer to the 11-5 that BM just posted :)

If the 11-5 breaks in, which way does the 1-7 break, out? I'm thinking it's the 11-5 (pitcher's perspective) that my pitchers throw. Correct me if I'm wrong by 11-5 (pitcher's perspective translates into 1-7 (or 7-1) from catchers perspective, no?

Shot this last year, pretty much one to seven, the camera is slightly to my right of center.

This clip looks like 12-6 spin to me. Like BM discusses in this post. The spin just appears to be offset for a RH pitcher. My LH daughter throws with the same 12-6 spin, but it turns away from a RH batter.

I'd really like to see some gif's of the spin axis for several pitches. I'm going to try an hack on BM's gear GIF to see if we can get things kick started again.

Ok, first attempt. I rotated the gear 180 degrees to represent a lefty, but I'm pretty sure it reversed the spin. I think that the RH and RH cutter is correct. Please check me on the LH pitches. If they are bad or confusing, let me know and I'll edit them out.

IF BM or anyone can help me get setup to generate the gear gif's, I'll be happy to try and create them for different pitches as requested. I'll need help with the spin axis though.

Regarding spin... The spin direction below is reversed for lefty. Until I can fix it, these images will need to suffice. This applies to the cutter as well.

For a riseball, do the spins simply reverse? I know many throw a fakie riseball with corkscrew spin as well.

Left Handed Cut Drop (cutter) - appears to still have 11-5 spin axis just turned out for LH pitcher
