Using this approach you are underestimating your velocity because you are assuming that the ball flight is exactly parallel to the ground i.e., the distance a thrown ball travels will always be greater than the shortest distance between 2 points on the ground. Correcting for that assumption still won't get you to 60+ mph, however.
For immediate short-term relief and to save you the costly expense of a visit to a trained doctor, who likely will not understand your problem and may think seriously about having you permanently committed, my home Rx suggestion is to take 2 baseballs and repeat your experiment. If this homeopathic remedy does not provide long-term relief, I would seek a referral to the Wassmerman and Yeager clinics.

Seriously though- this is DD throwing a pitch that registered 50 MPH on the Bushnell back in November I think. Frame rate is 60fps and I have it measured at 53 MPH with my redneck technique. If I did this test overhand it wouldn't even show up on film.

when I worked it out I just used the 17 inches My eyes could not really read the lines I am almost blind

I thought you just did an educated guess then added 6mph to it?

And this film was filmed in the Preston, Idaho area, just a few miles north of where I live. These characters are sort of like the people around here.
