One other thing that really helps with the dropball (and all spins) is investing in a revfire. Knowing the spin rate really helps to give her feedback.
PC- A dropball really should not be a pitch that girls get under. At it's best it will cause a girl to swing over it, and it is designed more to induce weakly hit ground balls. It should start off as a pitch that looks like a thigh high pitch and then drop to below the knees at least. (excuse the large picture canvas...my photo editing skills are not nearly as good as PCs.
JJ when you have time I would love to see another video of her drop from the side too if you don't mind. We are also in the phase where we have been working on drive and brush and now all of a sudden the drop ball is on again off again. She is pretty discouraged but I'm thinking as the brush gets better - which I THINK it is, the release just needs to change and bit, and I also think from this video that her DD's release is different and could be helpful.
