No shin guards???
PC- A dropball really should not be a pitch that girls get under. At it's best it will cause a girl to swing over it, and it is designed more to induce weakly hit ground balls. It should start off as a pitch that looks like a thigh high pitch and then drop to below the knees at least. (excuse the large picture canvas...my photo editing skills are not nearly as good as PCs
PC - on your DDs pitches, she doesn't get any brush interference. This one fix alone would add much to her pitching mechanics IMO.
It's not the shins that I'd be sweating...
Rocketech... I know your right !!! But I'm going to have to get on that after MS. I got her throwin 50+ ( guessin...was supposed to radar her today...not) She can heat up all those sunanigains she knows... To close to tryouts. Think I'll have her play rec. then ... We'll get it done in May.
Hate to tell you PC, but IMO/IME, if we're lucky, and its a good day, and we have really exceptional teenagers, our children's internal parent frequency cancelling devices enable them to only hear 50% of what we, their parents, tell them. That's why its good to make them someone else's coaching responsibility - the trick is finding someone who won't screw it up!
I certainly am not a technical expert by any means. When my DD was growing, the drop was her best pitch. She would hit a growth spurt and suddenly throw a little harder. When that would happen, her drop would "flatten" out. We would focus for a couple weeks on adding additional spin. Magically the ball would start dropping again. As the speed increases, the spin should get faster to get the same result. JMHO
