My suggestion without seeing a video would be to grip the ball deeper in her palm and only use the tips of her fingers to hold the ball. Open her fingers on release with no snap.

thanks for the pointers.. we will toy with it a little bit at her lesson tonight. I will try and get some videos, but I dont think our catchers are showing up tonight, so i might have to do the catching..

thanks

I really havent had the speeds checked, but she does have a lesson tonight which we are able to mess around with the radar gun. I know what you are saying. I seen some changeups in 10U where they just float up there and the batter has plenty of time just to reset and t-off on them. I am not looking to get a change up like that, but some of the times, I am not even able to tell. I think she just has to much whip and her fingers are behind the ball yet which does not slow the ball down at all, as mentioned above. I will post speeds when i get them. ( she is 10)

I think I already know the answer but I'll ask anyway - what does her pitching coach say to do?

I think more reps will probably work out any issues without major mechanical changes at 10 YO...
