The simple explanation is that it prevents her front leg from collapsing when she strides. If you watch the video of her in the pink, she's "sitting" into the pitch. The tip toe drill is helping to reinforce the stronger front leg and staying tall into the pitch.

Thanks. I have envisioned a drill where they are in the x position and pitch. The focus is on the firm front leg. I don't know if it would be effective or not. My daughter does this some too. We will try the tip toe drill for now.
