Thread Ratings

Lately, there has been a troll that is giving all PITCHING threads posted a rating of 1 star. I've looked through all the other boards, and this is not the case... so it's obviously someone that posts/views this board regularly, and has a serious issue with DFP (to which I question why they are even allowed here). I have my theories... but would hope that the board could implement a policy preventing users that have not posted on the thread from rating it... AND... identifying that user... when they feel strongly enough to rate it.... BECAUSE:

Thread ratings are used by many users to sort 'quality posts' in the questions that they have. Allowing 1 user to constantly de-value every thread is hurting this site more than helping it... as well as the users that seek help/answers by coming here.

Knowing that my request is a tall order, I ask that all of the users that find a thread helpful... to give it an appropriate rating... so that others can benefit from the time that all of us have taken trying to help each other.

So, please take the time to rate a thread that you feel will help others... because IT WILL. It's simple, click the star rating you'd give it (you can only do this once per thread)... as this is easily the best way to counter one user that is just being a turd.

Interesting. I rarely if ever rate threads and I think. As an experiment I just rated 3 of the stickies and my one vote added 2 stars to 1 thread, 1 star to another thread and did not move the 3rd thread.

Java - I wouldn't be too concerned about the ratings, I have never really paid much attention to them. For example, the IR thread receiving only a 3 star rating is absurd and I would consider it the single greatest thread in the pitching section that produced an "aha!" moment for many. Those of us who have been here for a while know the true experts and their tremendous contribution to pitching and fastpitch in general. Keep up the good fight, you and other experts have helped countless players, parents, and coaches along the way.

Or maybe just prevent the guy that has been banned half a dozen times under other user names from rating anything at all. Always interested to see someone's first couple posts plum full of advice and opinions.

I didn't even realize that you could rate a thread. I usually just "thank" the poster for the content that I like/appreciate/admire/worship. I will start doing so!

And not that I am in any way endorsing her music, to quote Taylor Swift: "Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate..."
