Java - I wouldn't be too concerned about the ratings, I have never really paid much attention to them. For example, the IR thread receiving only a 3 star rating is absurd and I would consider it the single greatest thread in the pitching section that produced an "aha!" moment for many. Those of us who have been here for a while know the true experts and their tremendous contribution to pitching and fastpitch in general. Keep up the good fight, you and other experts have helped countless players, parents, and coaches along the way.

I'm not personally worried... It's the human in me, Rocket. I found this place by means of Google... searching for: "Softball Pitching Medial Rotation"... it took me to the I/R threads. Totally stoked to see something I felt I was on an island with... had me reading hundreds upon hundreds of threads. At that time, the threads had 'View' counts. Rather than try and sift through thousands of threads, having 'Thread Views' and 'Thread Ratings' really helped me sort through the chaff.

I wish... more than anything that the thread views count functionality could be restored... but given that it has not... what other means does a NEW USER have to help find the information on here that they seek? They can use the search function... but that's limited to their accuracy in querying a string literal to a search engine. Visiting a profile only returns recent posts, too.

I read every day on here... and although the Sticky's are nice... there have been some really great threads/posts by users that get lost to the fact that you can't sticky everything. I have saved posts that you, Riseball, BM, Rick P, Starsnuffer, redhot (I remain anonymous on the hitting forum), Sluggers, Amy, txNick, FFS, Amanda, Doug, Ken, Boomers, JJ, Sutherland, Papa, PC, Pumpkin, Warrior, JoJo, Abby, CoachJ, corlay, 2020, Ark, knight, and on and on... Hell, I could max out a post listing all the invaluable contributors to this site. Whether I agree with all of them or not... they GIVE A LOT of their time sharing personal stores, experiences, etc... with similar goals... improving their game and those in this community.

When a troll devalues threads... redirects users away from this resource, and intentionally degrades the efforts of others on here... it pisses me off.

I won't ever speak for BM... but I really doubt he just sat down at his computer one day and said, "I'm going to post this stuff for me." He, like many of you, went completely out of his way to try and improve this game, permanently... and FREE. This site is bar none a better resource than any out there... I know, I've looked.

So yes, the human in me, absolutely wants to see this game... and all its nuances... become accessible to more than JUST the elite that discover it themselves. I recall watching a video of Sarah Pauly as a kid on here... and it's so obvious that she wasn't a born natural... and that good coaching HELPED make her the top performer she became.

I actually doubt that the user that keeps coming back under a new name is the one rating these threads, I'm pretty sure that user resides in the out field... as it is unbelievably easy to see the patterns in recently rated threads.

Call me crazy... I just really want the people that arrive here to succeed... that... is the reason I post.

Which instantly changed the rating from 1 start to 4.

Amazing how a nobody like myself could have such an influence.

I'm glad Java pointed this out. I never rated a thread before and I'm on here a lot. I'm going to "pay it forward" from now on though. This site rocks!

I give this thread a 1, then I decided it's not so bad, actually it is quite excellent, so I went back to give it a 5 and got a "changing votes is not allowed" message. I thought that this new rating deal was going to make for an enhanced DFP experience, but now I am thinking it is just going to make it more time consuming and difficult.

You know though, I bet you could go to a particular posters member page and quickly go to every thread they started then vote. That might be kind of fun.
