Great and timely question - Thanks for posting WM.

Thanks to all for answers. It's good to know it's normal and expected.

We'll keep swimming......

I needed to hear this too appreciating all the feedback you are getting. My DD is also 12 and the last 6 weeks it seems she is all over the place. We haven't had consistent weather, or light, or schedules to record and see what is going on. Her and I are trying not to stress about it because this fall is supposed to be about developing strength and really cementing i/r but I know she is freaking out a bit when she can't seem to hit my glove more than 1 out of 3 or 4 pitches.

Right Here For Now
When DD first started pitching lessons before figuring out that she was really a catcher, her first PC told her at her very first lesson, "There will be days when you can't miss the plate and throw nothing but strikes. Batters will be struggling to figure out what you're throwing and how to hit whatever pitch it is. Then there will be days when the batters will hit everything you throw or you can't throw anything over the plate. Those days will feel like home plate jumped up off the ground and smacked you in the back of the head it will hurt so much inside."

His DD went on to Pitch for the Tennessee Lady Vols.

It is for my 13yo DD.

Your DD's age?

Ditto!!! My DD is 13 as well…typically is fairly solid when on the mound…last week was all over the place…had to be taken off the mound in two games on that Sat. Sunday came out and pitched and okay game…not great, but made it through.

I do think she is just getting tired and ready for a break. If your DD is like mine we went from TB last year to her first year of school ball and then back to TB and we haven't stopped. We have a few more tournaments and then she is taking a break. I think we both need one!

DD was in a tournament 2 weekends ago. Saturday, she did great... Sunday, she was flat and got rocked.
I guess it happens at this age. I'm not sure if it was the type of pitches she was asked to throw.
Saturday was a good mix... Sunday was all fastballs due to the catcher being a noob and had a hard time catching drops and rises.
