Sticks. The 4 years of lessons was it with the same PC? She is going to pitching lessons now?

Just notice you have been a member since 2012. Have you not read BM's or Java's threads?

Don't give up yet if she has the passion. Just went to a combine last night. Only 2 pitchers in the 2019 group. They clocked the other girl at 60 and my DD at 56. I think both numbers were a little inflated, DD is more like 54, but that's not the point I'm trying to make.

The guy running the combine told DD that although the other girl was faster she didn't hit her spots or have any movement on the spin pitches. He said DD hit her spots and had great movement on her pitches. According to him, that was more important than overall speed and he would have a much easier time promoting DD to colleges than someone with just speed. DD needs to hear that from someone other than me on occasion.

What other choice do we have? We start now we got the 3-6 month window. Otherwise at 50mph she's done anyhow.

As others have stated speed is great but not everything. I don't understand why you say she's done at 5O mph? Are you saying she's done with softball or pitching because currently she maxes out at 50.

Gee I glad MLB wasn't like that or we may have never had a Wakefield, Dickey or the Hall of Famer Neikro.

How about John Tudor back in the mid-80s?

We have been to 4 PC's. I am looking at the IR and thinking about playing with it. She's not very receptive if it doesn't come thru her PC. The dog breed is a Coton De Tulear, it is AKC registered breed. The were imported into the United states from the island of Madagascar. They are from the bichon family. The arm whip I admit is interesting....

Sticks.

Base on the video your DD has a lot of room for improvement! If you can't do it, you need to find a new pitching coach that teaches I/R. It is best to get familiar with the " I/R in the Classroom" so that you can make sure that she will b taught that. You will not find any better support than what is on this website. People here a phenomenal and willing to help you any way that they can!

Good luck!

Wasn't the main concern of the OP that she wasn't throwing with as much velocity as one would think she should at her age? What's missing? There ain't enough arm-whip with the associated proper IR mechanics. It's that simple. As I see it, it's harder to generate velocity when pushing the ball through release.

I believe this kid has another 5+ in her. Three things have to happen first:
-She has to want it and be willing to work for it.
-Both she and her support system need to believe in the goal and the path, and
-She needs the proper instruction--whether that be a PC, parent or her taking the initiative to study up and work hard.

Kids benefit from instruction to varying degrees. Kids who must be with the PC for any change can be the slowest. Kids/support persons who take what they learn from the PC home and work hard gain more. Kids who can take what they learn and are super-self motivated (and get it,) along with a support person will grow the most.

And, while this instructor seems to be advocating arm-whip, evidenced by the orientation of her forearm relative to upper arm going into release, the wrist action is more the wrist-snap HE style (palm down/back at 9:00) release. I don't see it as being in harmony with the IR method.
