Her stride foot would have to end up going farther than it did from the original push. The girl leaps then her push foot comes forward once it hits the ground. She did not leap then replant and push again.

I am not exactly sure what you just said. Attempting a rebuttal - A replant force (which is an additional force on the pitch) does not have to result in a further stride foot. I have no idea how you would even assess this. You don't have to leap to do a replant.

I think we have found our culprit once again => multiple definitions of "replant".

I am not saying I am right or wrong but to me I define "replant" as follows - "BEFORE RELEASE, whenever the push foot stops movement relative to the gound, while in contact with the ground". This IS a replant and from my engineering schooling means an extra forward force is applied to the pitch (unless the push foot force to the ground collapses to zero - which I have never seen). In my world this is an unfair advantage.

So back to the video - I see a push foot coming to a non-movement condition prior to release of the pitch, which is a replant, which I feel is a black-n-white advantage.

I knew my first sentence would be confusing so I guess I should have said the stride foot would end up reaching a distance it could not reach from a maximum push-off. I guess you could say a gym step as some call it is what I would consider a re-plant and push-off that would cause an advantage.

Thanks JoJo for your comments! Agree that the rules on this need to be looked at and go in one direction or the other. I personally don't care which way but get us all out of the middle. On another note, I was talking with an ump that I know about the situation a few days ago and he (and his boys in blue) still have a hard time seeing it and even understanding it. (we are talking travel ball and little league so not expecting the world). So, I finally said to him, "when is the last time you saw a baseball pitcher take a skip from the rubber, replant, and then throw the pitch?" I gave him a visual of this of course and his eyes lit up and the light bulb went off. He said never and if he saw it and any of his boys in blue saw it then it would be called. I then said........"then why don't you call it in softball?" The response of course was, uh, you know we probably should shouldn't we? We both had a chuckle and will see if anything changes but it was the first time I could finally get someone to understand what I have been saying (and evidently not communicating very well) for so long.
Final comment, my daughter is getting pretty good at it now and she has both in her arsenal so if the opponent wants to present it then we will gladly oblige. :)
