Just now noticed that over 90% of the DDs are wearing long pants instead of shorts like mine. Kind of surprising considering pics from Texas, Arizona, etc.
I can't recall the last time I saw a team in shorts around here. What I hear from the girls is these two things. One is the girls feel shorts take away from the legitimate nature of the sport. Two is that they prefer to slide in pants especially on fields that have field dry on them!
Oh, BTW, this is in the Houston area.
Houston Havoc used to wear shorts, but I haven't seen them in a while since moving into the 18U division. But yeah, girls wear pants around here...even when it's over 100 degrees and 100% humidity. We melt just watching them play. LOL.

My DD played college in Texas.
It was shorts on hot days, pants on cold days.
I've also noticed her team now days wearing their pant legs down to their ankles. Might be a new college trend that will eventually trickle down to the younger girls.

From what my dd says she prefers pants as well. But she likes the long Boomba pants. Short socks and loose pants keep them pretty cool. And not to be out of line, during THAT time pants were much better than shorts. We are in OK and hit loo s wore them all summer as well.
