I've read through different threads and I noticed that some people say that the pitcher doesn't snap the wrist at the end of the pitch....almost as if it's a whip and release and the whip causes the hand/wrist to look like a snap. Some, say there is a wrist snap......I'm far from an expert. Curious to see which side of the fence you are on?

Find Scarborough's 1000fps YouTube vid. Ridiculous slo-mo close up of the release. Not sure what you mean by "snap," but whip seems a more appropriate description.

I'd link it but I'm at work, no YT access.

Depends on what exactly you mean by "wrist-snap." If, when you refer to "wrist snap," you are referring to the wrist snaps with those straight arm wrist-snap drills, I think you'll find a lot of folks here, including myself, that will tell you to get away from that. If you're talking about the resultant "wrist snap" that takes place due to a very good arm-whip going into release, I think you'll find supporters here.

I think his question was related to whether or not the snap is a muscled action of consciously using the forearm muscles to snap the wrist or if the snap is just a loose wristed motion that is a result of the terminus of the arm whip.
