My daughter that is 12u also runs into a lot of different opinions on warming up ect with her pitching as of right now,( she's playing or practicing with 4 different teams ) but ive always advised her to keep warming up the way she was taught or comfortable and if someone is persistant to have her do something alittle different, just to try it out for the time being and if it feels weird or hurts her consistency then not to do it. but always respect her coaches.

If MLB pitchers don't all warm up the same, why should we expect our 12U's to do so? I tell my pitchers to go warm up. If they don't have a warm-up routine they're unlikely to be a pitcher for me, because even at rec level they need to have had some instruction. This usually includes warm-up drills. If they've actually had instruction but don't know how to warm up, only then will I get involved, and I will also get with the parents to make sure she has a routine for the next practice/game.

Respect must run both directions. The coach has an obligation to understand the players' needs, and to meet them as best he can without disrupting the team. I don't care how they warm up, only that they do so and are ready to pitch when I call on them.
