Looking for a pitching coach that teaches forearm fire in Houston Tx. Thanks!

Oh Lordy, good luck with this. :( I posted our saga on another thread, so I'll try not to hijack your thread with our b.s. That being said, I'm all about the show of solidarity for you and your dd!

We are having some serious issues trying to explain to potential PC's that we don't want to see her elbow pointing at the catcher. We've been basically patted on the head like, "crazy parents, you are so dumb". After cruising this forum and watching video after video of elite pitchers, I am convinced that I'm not asking right. I've said, "We're looking for a coach who allows her to release the ball naturally, using a forearm whip motion" to "We believe her style is what has been referred to on some forums as Internal Rotation, I/R, forearm fire, or more a whip" and even, "We don't want to see her pulling her elbow up to the sky and her hand flying back over her shoulder". :::sigh::: I send videos, I send links to this forum, I send videos of Amanda Scarborough and Sarah Pauly. I still get told, "We'll try to correct the way your dd 'stops her arm' in front, so she can pick up speed" or "We'll really have to work on her arm circle mechanics, so she gets her elbow up and finishes strong towards her target, or she might injure herself". I'm at a loss. Seriously. I want to say, "If you can show me a video of ONE elite level pitcher who throws this way, then you'll possibly get my attention". I am spending WAY too much time obsessing about it - and my poor dd is all confused and befuddled, because she's had 4 different coaches in the last 8 months who are all convinced that they're "fixing" her. We're convinced she doesn't need to be "fixed", she needs to practice and be shown how to dial it in!

Good luck to you and your dd. I sincerely hope that you are more successful in using the right terminology than I have been. If you find the elusive I/R PC, please take a picture for proof. After my search, I believe they are unicorns. Also, please post the EXACT wording you used to explain what you want to have happen during lessons, and how the PC responded. It should be a form letter that new softball parents can just hand to coaches. :)

Cheyo, by your terminology (forearm fire) I'm assuming you watched one of Phil Schonberg's videos. If so, this is not what you are after IMO.

In my opinion...if that's what you are asking. I'm sorry, I'm not from the area so I don't know any instructors.
