What would be the things I should be working with her over the winter?
She has good control and throws hard. She also has a nice flip change and is working on a drop and curve.
How are her Mechanics?

I'd say her #1 concern is all the requests you'll be getting to ink her for fall ball teams...

Dial in her spots, the drop and a change. Don't rule out a FB for a poorman's RB and must-have strike. I'm sure you'll hear comments about her drag foot, her shoulder follow through and a couple other minor points, but golly--this kid has some great things going on! Nice work DD & PC!

Holy cow! If only I could get my 10u to drive forward with such power and form! Fantastic work! I'll be having my DD watch this tonight for sure. Best I can get out of my 10u is what I've termed a "dainty-hop" off the rubber.

Only thing I notice, and it might just be a local thing here, but opposing coaches would be protesting your DDs 'replant' of her drive foot. Although it may just be the mechanics of pitching from a practice rubber minus the 8-inch-deep toe-pit that tends to get dug out in front of it on a regular field.

NBD, She has a great foundation, kudo's to you and her PC, oh and "her":)

Yes, her drive foot is leaving the ground, that would be a good area to start with. In the house over the winter, she can do the paper pull drill or the dish towel pull drill where she places her drive foot on a piece of paper or a dish towel then drives out trying to keep the toe in contact with the paper/towel and continue to pull it forward with the drag.
As far as her shoulder push, very typical for her age and strength. It could be something she can work with releasing a nerf or sock ball into a wall at close range, getting confidence in the whip.

Again I agree on the spots, come up with some games--
*I use a 3-2-1 game on 5 spots. 3 tries to hit all spots, what you don't hit, now you have 2 tries to hit them, whatever is left you get one try. When she can do them all in the 3x's around, drop the 3.
*K a batter with spots-Start with low inside, if it hits, it's a strike, if it misses, it's a ball, move onto next spot-high inside, repeat. Try and K the batter with 3 strikes before she throws 4 balls.

Work on the change-up SELL! Give her about 10 pitches where she can mix up fastballs and changes. She doesn't tell you what she's throwing. You try and see all those little things that give the change-up away. Tell her what you see. Her final goal is to sell that change-up to you. You catch her more than anyone. If she can sell it to you, she'll sell it to anyone.:p

Keep working on the drop.

Tons of encouragement..she's awesome!

I'd like to see a little more pull of a looser, lower arm. She looks pretty good with a nice flex at the elbow as the arm comes over the top, but at about 10 o'clock (and foot plant,) she makes a transition move that results in the arm straightening for a brief moment. At this point the ball/palm turns toward 3B. From there she transitions into a more palm up and pull orientation with the elbow leading a little more into release. That transition move from 10-9 o'clock is pretty common, even among high level pitchers. The key, however is to make sure the lower arm is loose and is pulled more into release. I think some effort put into pulling all the way in the downswing would be helpful.

I'd like to hear other's perspectives on this because I believe the hitch/transition move is directly connected to the whole body. Her effort to get open I think is above average and I believe it is related (and why the side of her foot drags and why her plant foot lands at more than 45 degrees.) My concern would be to make sure that any change in one area is in coordination with the whole system.

I really like her release!

Thanks for all th input JoJo. Im really not worried about the drive foot because when she gets on dirt she doesn't do that. I think thats her way of pushing off on the matt instead of a hole. I really like the location games im gonna defiantly add that to her workout. As for the shoulder that you and Ken brought up im not sure what you mean can you please explain. Thanks a lot for the feedback

I agree with you Ken. I really like her release position and her back leg.

A couple things that I see is she is trying to get open before she has finished her push off. See front foot sideways. That would help her fix her leap.

The other is in her launch position. She needs to get into a better forward angle during the launch position and not try to lift her shoulders up when her back foot is starting to come forward.

I bet the ball gets on the batter in a hurry!
