This could go in another section but since pitchers have the whole plant and drag thing going on I figure it's best suited in here. What are the best cleats for a girl who rolls her ankles inward? Is it better to just use inserts?

I'm waiting for someone to invent a cleat with a wheel on the toe. Nothing in the rules outlawing them.

My DD (14) has the Ringors and loves them. We used to go through at least two pair a year and this is the second year for this pair and they are just now starting to show some wear on them. These will make it through the fall and she will get a new pair after the first of the year. They are definitely worth the money.

How do the Ringors hold up on the side? DD drags her toe except on her rise and screw. On those, she drags her toe until almost at release and then she drags the whole side of the front of her shoe. Working on fixing it but in the meantime, she is going through cleats in 3-4 months.

First, fix her mechanics. That isn't healthy. Some pitchers actually think that they have to keep their foot on the ground so do all kinds of nonsense like this. They only have to keep one foot on the ground at a time, as soon as their plant/stride foot comes down, they're free to lift that back foot off the ground. You'd be amazed at how many pitchers argue this or don't think it's true resulting in all kinds of sillyness.

Second, I've never had an issue with the wear on Ringors, but I do have to replace my daughters 2-3x per year because the spikes wear down. I can't say they'd hold up with your daughters particular mechanics, but I imagine they would hold up better then most, especially the disposable Mizunos that tend to barely last a weekend.

my dd used to go thru a pair of cleats before a season ends. i used to put epoxy on the holes that develop on the side as she was dragging on the wrong part of the foot. not healthy, not good so i challenged her to fix it and she stepped up. as others have said, fix her mechanics. dragging on the side of the foot is bad.

DD's last cleat lasted over a year and we replaced it because the spikes wore down. replaced with a 3N2 ( i think that's the brand).

btw, has anyone ever needed to replace the insert of the cleats with something that provides more support/cushioning something like a Dr. Scholl's?

Been looking at getting a pair of the Ringors. DD didn't like the pair of metal cleats she had before. I see they offer a molded cleat. Pros and Cons?

I, too, use and recommend Ringors. I am currently wearing the molded cleat, with the protect toe and it had saved my toes several times. I would have gotten the turf shoe, but it didn't have the protect toe. I did wear the sole down on the turf shoe after about 5 years. But, mine see daily use.

I just posted a coupon for Ringors. Cons - they run small.

My dd uses ringors. Took the factory insole out of them and replaced it with a custom orthotic insert. Fantastic! She is in her second year for this pair. They last a long time
