I have been trying to track down Boardmember's excellent videos on teaching a curve ball and a screw ball. Could someone please provide me a link?

Thanks!

Ok here is our entry...of trying to learn the cruve form the video... It was possible, only because we was "playing" with it in off season, and I told DD it has to be a change up. She wouldn't throw at a batter, much less aiming behind them...as fast as she could. Also I know this is way high. We only had a short time on that field this day....haven't been able to get back yet....because CrossCountry practice & meets ect.... Honestly I have seen her throw it much lower, crossing strike zone and finish as off the table drop without hitting the ground.
Just an experiment....

PC, good to see you posting again.

Re: the clip, is she suppose to be throwing a curve here? From the looks of the release and black stripe on ball, she is achieving 12-6 spin on the ball which more fastball/drop ball spin. With the curve you want side spin (9-3) to make the ball break left to right. I also wouldn't necessarily have her stride to the right side of the rubber to throw left, let the correct spin of the pitch cause the movement not the angle of release.

BTW - I like her mechancis, she has improved a lot since your top of the roof videos!

Thx Rocketech1 ... yea a curve... we watched BM's video, and gave it a shot. She had it going so far left I couldn't catch it. I told her to aim it at that post to the right of me. She pulled her foot on her own. I was surprised to see the 12/6 when I watched the video.

PC- this is not a curveball- the grip/spin/release etc are all in line with a dropballish type pitch. I will try to get some video later of what we are working on with the curve so you can see what another clueless dad/DD pair are doing. My DD gets decent 3-9 spin from the K and at slow speeds but once she goes full force she winds up with a spin like the one below at the 54 second mark. In fact at full speed her embryonic curve and rise become the same pitch. Just a bullet spinning flat pitch. Sometimes they blend nicely and it becomes a curve rise though and it is a thing of beauty but it is only 1 in 50 right now.

She is learning a palm up curve though, you may be working on more of a palm down curve.
