I would post a picture of myself working a Finch camp, but you could tell I wasn't paying attention to what she was saying, along with a group of dads! I was lucky I didn't get hit in the head with a ball. Not a Finch fan, but as Doug posted she sure has a fan base. One thing I will give her credit for, She was a very good hitting pitcher and played a good first base. Most pitchers are her level don't. She is also very good with kids. Her little one was a hand full. I was glad my dd was fast to chase him around.

Jenny Finch has been and is good for the sport and is one of the best players of all time. She can get premium prices for clinics and really has a great personality for working with kids. Which is great for her. Maybe Im becoming a "Hello Elbow snob" like half the guys on this sight, but do you think anybody has kindly challenged or debated her on the "Hello Elbow finish" that she teaches? Somebody knowledgeable might have told her, hey thats what they're teaching now. Maybe gusys are just enamored and intimidated with her and cant say hey thats "Hello Elbow" you just taught.

I think the Finch experience alone could be worth while. I took older DD to watch Team USA play in the Bound for Bejing Tour. A line of kids started to form at the outfield corner gate about the 5th inning (it was also about this time that Team USA started spotting the other team runners on 2B...) DD and her friend made it to the line early enough to get a good spot. At the end of the game, a fence was put up at the edge of the infield and it was announced that each player would have a station and that they were only allowed to sign one autogragh and take one picture.

The players took their spots behind the fence and the gates were opened. (That alone was great fun to watch!!!) Jennie hopped over the fence and made sure every kid in her line got at least one autogragh, a hug and a picture. DD keeps that glove under close guard to this day. Classy person.

Sometimes it's the message, sometimes it's the messenger.

She still gets that to this day, and she deserves it. I was at a recent Stanford game (the opener I think) and she was in the press box doing the TV thing, and all the kids were lined up outside the press box waiting for her.
