Thank you Rick. Appreciate the feedback. I never really thought about the backward tilt causing balance issues. I think that is her way of hitting the wall. So basically, she needs to hit the wall a little better upon footplant instead of after release? Again, thank you.

Any advice on staying open longer without landing at a 90?

My DD also tends to not get open enough/stay open long enough.
And she also tends to land more 90d when when focusing upon "open-ness".

Don't really know the answer, but may try a cue like "get the shoulders more open than the hips"?

Have her look at what the top pitchers do just prior to foot plant in post #65 in Drive Mechanics as my DD is working on the same thing. Thanks for the great thread Javasource. Have her take some time to visualize what they are doing and then work it into her motion. I looked back and just a couple weeks ago and her foot was at 45 degrees. I feel for you, it can be very frustrating. My DD was at a local university pitching session recently and the guy next to us was saying how great she was and all, but what I was seeing was all the stuff she was doing wrong. I really felt like telling him to stuff it! Shortly after that I had a reality check in that she threw a drop ball and I didn't react soon enough and it went under my glove and thru the wickets. Man was I embarrassed when she started laughing at me! Give her some time, she'll get it.

Yep, Corlay - your DD needs to open earlier... forming the hook earlier (we talked about the humerus elevating a little earlier).

Staying open longer is often (not always) about the pitchers ability to get open earlier. In the full speed video, Lizzy's front side timing is off... her leg doesn't reach extension until well after 3. You'll see how extension of the leg is timed with the turning in of the foot... which corresponds to the opening of the hip/shoulder lines. So if this is late... opening will be late...

She looks great Boomers... and you know how to tackle front-side timing. Tell her I'm super proud of all she has accomplished. Great kid, great work ethic!!! ~JS
