Have worked on her feeling the problem and identifying without my input starting to have success, she now tells me what she did wrong more often than I tell her what she did wrong.
I love it when this happens. I also like it when they start evaluating other pitchers and start chatting with friends and teammates about form, style, spins and tactics!

Worked on improved arm whip and better drive.

Noticed while reviewing some video yesterday that she was collapsing the hip, changed her toe angle was at 90 to closer to 45 with much less collapse and better front side resistance. So how is she doing?

So has she made any progress, I think the whip is improved but I am biased so another perspective would help. I think the disconnect or as I see it folding at the waist is actually related to LFT toe angle. After changing the toe angle she had a different feel, told me that she felt like she was slightly falling backwards and did not feel like she needed to step through after release. As far as the drive she was able to get a drive with the thigh parallel to the ground but was a little to aggressive for her and lead to issues, but looked good. 4-28-2014_035.jpg
Thanks for taking the time to look,
Mike and Lele

Lele is doing lots of good things and in the above pic, her drive looks lots better.

One very critical point that IMO she should work on is the combo of Internal Rotation/Brush Interference. It looks to me like her IR is happening before even her upper arm has contacted her side.....note how early her hand is rotated behind the ball....way to early such that she is pushing more than whipping. She is really not getting any forearm brush to the thigh to help transfer energy either. I would go back to BoardMemebers sticky relative to IR......do the close distance backward chaining drills. She appears to be trying to "clear her hips out of the way" from her arm......mechanically not ideal.....should work on getting the hips to rotate which in turn will help with the Brush Interference.

Have read both BM IR in the classroom and JS Drive mechanics, need to study them both some more, and so does she. Agree with what you are seeing. Arm away from the body has been an issue for a long time and I did not recognize it until recently so it is a very ingrained habit that will likely take time to fix. Have to say that I am proud of her willingness to "learn how to pitch all over again," her words. She has gotten used to being told by me to do xyz and then as I learn and understand more, being told xyz is wrong and now she needs to do abc. The good part of this is she is able to change things a lot easier then if she had not learned to make changes. Well enough rambling, thanks for taking the time Rick.
