Do most 8u leagues pitch from 30' or 35'?

I have a local league that allows 8u players to pitch the second half of the season. It's just to let the girls try it out and see if they like it so they'll get into lessons and be ready by 10u.
I gave a clinic there last year to give them the basics before they started and will give another one this year.

I had one 7yr old sign up last fall and she is most efficient around 30'. --She is very tiny.

I asked a board member about the distance and he said it's always been 35', they had never even thought about it being different.

What's the consensus?

Our is:

8U - 10U: 35, 11" ball
12U: 40, 12" ball
14U >: 43

I think I liked 35 and it worked OK. I think I would be worried about the pitcher getting hurt by a ball hit back at her a 30' more so then her pitching but I have never done it.

So Cal
ASA SoCal:
8U is 30feet,10inch ball.
10U is 35feet, 11inch ball
12U is 40feet, 12inch ball.

This ^^^^^

For 8U, our league does a hybrid kid/coach pitch for the first half of the season. Kid pitch until 4 balls, then coach pitches the number of strikes left in the count (i.e., 4-1 count, coach gets 2 pitches). In the second half of the season, it's all kid-pitch in preparation for All-Stars.

35 feet, 11 inch ball, one of those softer bouncy balls.

Our 8u rec league started pitching last year. I don't remember the number, but they get a certain number then coach pitch.
