Seems to me the coach is taking the punishment a little too far. What happens the next time when
a pitcher feels pain in her arm and is afraid to say anything to the coach for fear of getting benched.
Talked to her and her mom yesterday, she said she already apologized, and explained it would never happened again, but she was just confused because the coach had yelled at her once before when she was in a game and was "off". Coach told her she should of told her she was off before she put her in.
So the kid gets mixed signals from the coach. The parent says the coach is under scrutiny right now from the AD due to being a new coach, it's her 2nd year, and getting numerous complaints from parents.
The coach explained to my pitcher that when she told her that, she assumed her confidence was --gone forever--, so she had no intention of ever putting her again. My pitcher is confused, but between her mom and I, we were trying to break into her to the --dealing with the coach--part of the game.
My own DD was an expert at this as she went through 3 high school coaches and 3 college colleges.
