Ok, this may seem like a very dumb question, but how do your pitchers use Gorilla Gold during a game. Meaning where do they put it and do they leave it in the bag? My 14U DD doesn't have pockets on uniforms and not sure what to do with the towel. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but just wanted some feedback on what works for others. Thanks.

Right Here For Now
Our uniforms have rear pockets in the pants so our pitchers just hang it out of the back pocket and throw it in it's bag on Offense. I have seen others that leave it in the open bag and throw it on the ground like a rosin bag.

Im out of town and dont have rule book with me, but if Im not mistaken the ASA rule book specifies that GG must be kept in the players pocket.

My DD keeps it in her bag in the dugout. Unless the you have the inning from hell you should not have to apply it multiple times. Otherwise a pocket is really the only option.

Not to hijack the thread, but what works better for really sweaty hands - the rosin bag or the gg? My dd has never used either and is constantly wiping her sweaty hands on her jersey. She's even had a couple IP's called for doing this after she steps onto the rubber.

My DD grew up pitching in Florida and always fought this battle with the sweaty hands. Rosin worked ok until she tried GG. Now she is a big fan of the GG.

Nothing illegal about wiping hand on shirt at any time. Did she possibly bring hands together and then remove the the hand from ball and wipe it?

As for sweaty hands, some of the pitchers on my daughters team in would put antipersperant on their hand prior to the game.

Yes that's exactly what she did Comp! Great idea on the deodorant - would never have even thought of that! I will definitely look into the GG too. Thanks guys!

On the bucket
DD loves GG. It was introduced by her PC about a year ago.

She doesn't keep it in her pocket. She keeps it in the GG ziplock bag on the ground at the back of the circle, but IIRC the rule does state it needs to be in the pocket.

You would be surprised at the number of Umps and coaches who immediately begin to question it as illegal.

Thanks everybody for your input. I don't know what the rules state, but I will probably try to have her keep it her on herself while pitching. Half in and half out of the top of her pants or something, but I will have to check on rules.
