I have read on this post a few times references to Lisa Fernandez.
I know that Lisa is a leap and drag style...emphasizing the proper
body angles at the different phases of the pitch. My question is ...Is there
a difference to what instructors teach as the Lisa Fernandes style or era vs
the rotation talked about on this forum...?

Not sure what the instructors teach that claim to be that style.

There is leap and drag and step styles.

There are variations of each of those depending on the wind up used.

There is also the open variations of those.

Not real clear on this question.

The variation lingo I've heard where Lisa was concerned was the figure 4 terminology if that helps.

IMO, Lisa's "style" is the link between the hand on top of the ball of 15 years ago and the internal rotation method that we see in the elite pitchers of today. If you watch her motion in Right View Pro instruction, she gets to the "hold the glass of water" position that Cheri Kempf described in her book "The Pitcher's Edge".

Have only been to one lesson..but I like the instructor...wants aggressive legs and good arm circle. NOT close the door. The two things I thought may be the difference..(and again only one lesson) was at 9 oclock ball/palm facing second...which to me counters the internal rotation and then the hips always stay open. One drill was leaining back and falling back onto the right foot after the figure 4. No close of the hips.....wondered if that was the Lisa Fernandez style...

Everything the pitcher's body does, up to the instant the ball is released, is all part of the 'pitch'.

After the ball is released the 'Delivery' is now in progress.

What the pitcher's body does AFTER THE BALL IS RELEASED, is all part of the 'Follow through' as it has zero to do with what the ball does after it has been released.

The 'Figure 4' is one type of follow through.

There is going to be a test on all this next Tuesday. :D
