You don't sound sincere Bob, but I would have her be able to recognize her own spin first. Then get her to gradually get it spinning in the right direction. That's how I learned to pitch. You are looking for some magic drill. Trial and error is the best teacher sometimes.

Also, maybe you could try different visual indicators. If she is having trouble seeing the spin axis when there is a tape-line on the ball, you could try coloring the seams ala Denny Tincher (you do not need to buy this, Sharpie works well too) as that can be easier for some girls to appreciate from their perspective.

Pretty cool ball. First time I have seen it. yeah, that looks like it could help. I'll give it a try.

Did some football toss with DD. She actually managed to get the ball spiraling backwards. Not sure how, but it was definitely there for the first few tosses. I think she might have been rolling the ball end over end first. She got the picture quickly and figured out what was going wrong. Looking forward to more work with this. It was an eye opener for her. Thanks for the drill.
