My DD has TANEL RPM Lite Turfs and they have mesh on the top and the sides like her TANEL REV-Ds.View attachment 5543Might eventually have to put some tuff toe on the turfs though as she has been pitching 4-5 times a week in them since October.

Why are we wearing basketball shoes in softball? Added ankle support? Something does not match up. This is a game of explosive fast responses, and to be standing there with an extra 1/2 lb of leather on your feet seems crazy!

Same thing with Ringors. The weight made the shoe unwearable. Only the fastest of the fast could wear those and not sound like they were running with bricks on their feet. Daughters team had them for team cleats one year... about 3 weeks into the season, they were off her feet and she was back to a lighter cleat (mfgr irrelevant). Speed increase was visbily notable...others started wearing their own preferred cleats not long after.

Some girls need the ankle support. I have a budding 10yo, that has ankle problems. I sent her dad a link to this shoe, this morning.

With this packed sand (that we play on) it can reach 120 degrees, I prefer the heavier shoe. I like the foot protection. For soccer, I would choose a lighter shoe.

I am glad that we all have different choices, that we can make.

My DD has worn mid-cuts since she began pitching. They actually saved her ankles from being sprained or fractured numerous times from grounders while pitching.Last season a teammate of hers received a broken ankle while wearing regular cleats. As far as a girl being slower because she wears mid-cut cleats instead of regular cut cleats ........Are you being serious?

BB-

I checked these out- are the LITE shoes very different with regard to weight from the others- as I did not see the LITE brand with the pitching toe on them. I am debating between the mid-cut regular with pitching toe and the LITE with "tough toe" (not that I am great at the "tough toe application but it seems to do the trick). Your thoughts (or rather your DD's thoughts:))?

The REV-D shoes are heavier than her turfs not only because of the pitching toe but because of the longer and bigger cleats on the bottom.I just compared the weight of my DDs mid-cut Mizunos w/ tuff toe and her new REV-Ds by holding them in my hands and by her wearing one of each and we both feel there is no difference between the two.She likes the fact that both REV D toes come with the pitching toe rubber on them as opposed to her Mizunos which I only tuff toed her drive and drag foot.My DD says that you would not be disappointed with the REV-D cleats and that your DD would love the comfort that these cleats provide.

Right Here For Now
We actually had good luck with Boombah and my kid drags her 12 year (now 13)old foot. No wear through in a year.

DD went through three pairs inside of 2 months. Kept tearing the molded cleats off of them because the soles were made of a too soft material and it couldn't take the severe twisting motion. Their customer service was excellent but after the third pair doing the same thing, we just gave up and went to Ringors. Haven't had an issue in 2 years other than not knowing about the sizing differences.

DD has had both the molded and metal cleats with pitching toe ...only thing she didn't like about them is the metal cleats in the same size run narrow and hurt her feet. Other than that they were a reallt good pair of cleats

Do the Tanel molded cleats run true to size? Is there a break in time?

I apologize for anyone reading this twice...I posted on another cleat thread also.

I just ordered Ringor Diamond Dynasty cleats for my pitching daughter. The fit is OK, but she says they are very stiff and uncomfortable. She goes through several pair of cleats a year. Two pair of 3N2s fell apart, but she loved the feel of those cleats. Not many durable options out there. She is a quick runner. She is happy with the less expensive Adidas options, but I need to replace them often. I guess I could go with cheaper cleats with Tuff-toe stick-ons, but I would love to find an option that lasts a year.
