    Back foot drag

Right Handed and the tear starts just left of the tip and then proceeds down the entire inside of the shoe. This pitcher goes thru a pair of shoes every three months because she drags her rear toe so deep. I knows this cuts down on her power, but anyone have a cure/fix?.

My DD is also an excavator and went through cleats in a tournament.

We found Ringor and only have to replace them twice a year (beginning of Spring and beginning of Fall.

Even back in rec our dd was going through at least 2 pr in a short season. When she went competitive we starting using a pitching toe. They are about $10 and come with everything needed to adhere them to the shoe. They do not come off. The ringors look great, but our daughter just loves the fit of Eastons, so we use the pitching toe. Her shoes are the ONLY thing cheap about softball .

I assume you were asking how to get her to reduce the pressure of the drag/ pivot foot after she strides. A pitcher I worked with looked like she was plowing a field with her back foot. We had a hard time getting that back foot to glide instead of drag. She would watch video of herself so she knew what she was doing but still had a hard time changing. One thing I had her try was to pitch bare footed on carpet and when she drug her rear foot she would get a bit of rug burn which gave her instant feedback on how hard she drug that foot. She learned quickly the feel of letting the side of the toe glide lightly across the top of the carpet and then the dirt of the pitcher circle.

My daughter had worn a whole in the side to from dragging. It was late in the season and we didnt have time to break a new pair in. So I found an old shoe repair place and they patched a piece of leather on the side. You couldnt tell unless you really got close and it costs about $3.50. Shes still wearing them....
