One more thing....now that I re-read this...does this make her a restarter? Since she starts the rotation...straightens out and carries the ball out front and then tries a last ditch effort to release with a rotation of the lower arm...which then in turn pulls everything forward....that would explain why my DD also releases out front, but maintains good posture. She just starts her rotation a little too late...but doesn't restart....ok....thats my last try before you correct the "Tests"

I'm thinking you are head of the class... your understanding of the tape and all. The 4 seams is the help for the smaller hands... Good Luck

Ding Ding Ding Ding! A+.........She "carries the ball" forward and THEN tries to I/R her forearm late...........As a result, the transfer from bicep to forearm is TO late........Notice there is no decel in the bicep at the optimum moment......It actually decels way out in front where the forearm is taking the energy.........Then even snaps backward a bit and never finishes because the energy is all but spent at that point.........

That is the difference between "I/R THEN follow through" TAKE THE ENERGY ON TIME............

Vs. "follow through then I/R" which the young lady above suffers from..........She is "LATE"..........

If she (forearm) would TAKE THE ENERGY ON TIME..........Everything would change.......Including posture....Brush interference, and VELOCITY............

"REACHING" for the target and poor posture is a tell tale sign of "Late I/R"..........

BUST IT OFF.........THEN Follow Through.............

Just small hands huh? Well...I guess I really don't have enough experience to speak intelligently on the topic and advise you either way, whether to force the grip, or let her grow into it.

Ok then... in the test case... the pitchers feet is the give away. FFS=feet first sir. She isn't plowhorsing a serpent drag or even dragging the tip to target... it is airbourne... JMHO

EP: I watched again, and she is plowing, then really lets off to get forward...I hate these little snip-its...I need to see the whole motion.... DD just went to the pool, and that reminds me the pitcher isn't swimming...

Not really. A couple of weeks away from 13.

I guess I don't get why 4 fingers over the long lace can't grab the ball in a 4 seam grip..........??

Not that it really matters. I've had kids more comfortable with the arc seam of a 2 seam grip because the arc better matches the "long middle finger to shorter flanking fingers" radius in the arc.........

Agreed 2 seams... more "comfortable" ??? LMHO... than the OP maybe... Its easier to remember @ first. 4 seams is for throwing...in the beginning... you gotta stand that tape vertical first, well after you get the feet right, and a rhythmic, fluid motion... JMHO
