Lizzy is a great example of what BM's i/r posts can do. Having never pitched before this year, she started working on the i/r method 6-7 months ago. She's throwing fire, and is only 11.

IMO, Lizzy is to the point where all she lacks for good i/r - is more upper arm deceleration. Albeit improved, it has been evident in every video... and hasn't developed as fast as everything else.

With Boomers permission, I'm gonna call him out!!! lol ;) They admitted that they skipped the 1/4 drills, namely lock it in, as well as some of the 9 o'clock work. After threatening them (j/k) repeatedly, they're giving in and gonna work on it.

IMO, Lizzy had some moments over the course of this journey where the lights came on:

1). BM's 3/4 drill fixed so many issues - in one drill.
2). Re-introducing the backswing, greatly improved your timing/velocity.

Every pitcher has different moments like this when the lights come on. I think it's important to reinforce these moments by introducing whatever caused this into your daily routine.

Anyway, she's doing great, Boomer. It was great speaking with you and your daughter. Keep up the great work.

We have really been focusing on the arm circle and keeping as outside of the throwing shoulder as possible. We are hoping it is more engrained into muscle memory now. My DD says she isnt having to "think about it" as much. Hopefully it is coming along. Perhaps Java, Boardmember, Perfect Circle or another technical guru could assist in making gif file out of this :). Any input would be appreciated on anything we can work on. Thanks!

Boomers,

She looks awesome! Dang, Boomer... you've both done an awesome job. She's getting much better brush, good alignment (spine) angle, shoulders are positively influencing, timing is lights out, and really good ground-up sequencing. At 11, she's throwing high 40's and spinning in the 15+ range. Unless someone else catches an issue, I'd start work on pushing those numbers - and that other item we spoke on regarding tendencies. She has a great transfer of weight in her wind-up, I'd start working on exploding harder off the plate. Watch the Abbott video I posted a while back, and watch her front foot digs into the rubber. I'll PM you later (tomorrow).

Awesome job!!!

Funny you should ask... I've web pages I give to my students (as sort of a compendium to instruction)... and over the years it's evolved into enough content to make a site. So... I've been working on a website for the last month or two - But nothing published to date... pitching related, that is. Hope to have it up running by January... I hope.

I'm sorta curious now... who were you thinking? Please don't say the forearm "fire" site... Although much of the content on there is worth reading (I'll read just about anything), that "goodbye elbow" tutorial terrified me.

Any updates on a website or videos for sale? Not that your DFP contributions aren't appreciated, but it would be cool to have somewhere to send folks that has everything of yours centralized. I'd also love to hear more about your perspectives on hitting, fielding, situational, team management, player development, training and opinions on coffee.

Ken

On a side note, I think this is the thread where JS first established himself as someone to listen to at DFP.

What?! Hal was listening to me before then... something about my posts raising giant red flags.

As far as websites/videos. I'd really like to get something out there. Problem is... I get working on the format... and my OCD takes over. Some day, for sure. Perhaps if I can get together with Rick, I'll get something going... maybe I need that kick in the a$$.

You had me going back and looking at my earlier posts... and I gotta meet BM one of these days. He's the bee's knees.

Foot Work - there are a ton of quality posts by BM in this thread... I even tried to translate one of them... ;)

Led me to these posts on the Screwball and the concept of: Lean, transfer, slide.

Anyway, there's another post on ballistic motions linked in a post above... that I know I've linked before.
