Is it the one on Boardmember's "what do i mean" thread.. on page 3? it may be my dd on that clip.. Not the best footwork on that clip though :) she just got to pitch in her first tournament and did pretty well. Maybe its not the one you are talking about..

Sorry I can't even find that thread!

And I'll add comment as well. For 8 Bella looks fantastic! If she keeps missing high, watch her shoulder resistance at release. She may feel she is releasing early enough, but if she shoves the shoulder as she's releasing she's going to push the ball out front more and this will cause it to go high.

I have to respectfully disagree: We don't talk "early enough" (or too late, etc.) with 8 year olds (try the advice as an adult and it's hard). We talk posture and throw the ball when your foot lands. That's it.

Do you ever agree with anything? I swear if someone said water is wet you'd find a way to disagree.

Sure starting out w/ an 8 yo KISS (keep it simple stupid) is a great way to start but at some point you need to progress past that and it's pretty clear that this girl is fairly advanced for 8 and can probably handle a bit more instruction than your average 8 yo who hasn't picked up a softball before.

It's not wise to dumb down things to much for young kids. I'm thinking of having my 8yo review the Drive Mechanics sticky and take a test at the end of the semester. Just think, maybe she can get a head start and get some college credit for passing the test! Of course the next semester would be the I/R in the Classroom sticky, home schooled of course.
