So I am watching the LL World Series semi-final game between Virginia and New Jersey on ESPN, and the radar gun they are flashing shows both pitchers hitting 58 MPH. 58 MPH at 40 ft is approximately 62 MPH at 43 ft. How many 12 year old pitchers has anyone seen throwing 58MPH? Not to mention the fact that batters from both teams are getting around on some pitches and the score is currently 5-3. If my DD's team had seen a 58 MPH pitcher at 12U the pitcher would have had 18+ K's against us!!!

Not buying it. I just watched the game and I think those numbers are juiced by at least 5 mph. I just worked the 10u/12u B western nationals and I saw girls throwing harder than that and I assure you they were not throwing 58 mph.

I have seen a few. I have had a few. I have had a few exceptional 10Us that cruised at 51 and could hit 55. As I said, they were exceptional pitchers.

No doubt there are 12s that can hit 58 or more but they would certainly be exceptional in my opinion also.

It's the magic of television. I watched a little bit of the little league world series on tv tonight. Those girls appeared to be on the slow side. My DD wrapped up the 12U season at ASA Eastern A nationals. Those pitchers all threw considerably harder. As I sarcastically went the extra mile to point out in a post a few months ago, speed is hard to measure in such a short distance. Those little league world series pitchers weren't popping gloves.

Dont know all the ins and outs of LL pitching rules, but even by LL rules the Puerto Rico pitcher is illegal on virtually every pitch, she is double touching. I have even seen her pitch the ball into her glove while engaged with the pitching plate. And by club ball standards the Tucson pitcher is not simulating taking a signal with hands separated after stepping onto the pitching plate.

Tucson just switched pitchers, 2nd one appears to be legal.

There isn't one of those pitcher even getting close to 50, look at the arc on the ball! They must be letting the pitcher's parent post the speeds...

#4 for the West is bringing it pretty good. I didn't see any arc. Cant figure out how Puerto Rico got here with that pitching?!? We have and saw better pitching in the 9-10 division. They brought a knife to a gunfight.
