Maybe not your guy, but Vic pitchers were getting called.

Sorry for taking a while to reply, different time zones with me been in Australia, over here in Australia the ISF laws have been adopted and still my girls are the only pitchers we see in female softball here utilising it. Its very taboo and its actually quite heated when raised. I guess everyone for so long were so vigilant on stamping it out when juniors started to show any sign that they were hopping that its hard to change those views.

Maybe it's a Victorian thing? It's encouraged very strongly here in WA and the 17s in Tasmania a couple of years back had most of th girls planting.

Victoria for some very strange reason has dropped off massively at that national level. (I grew u with NSW and Vic winning everything) and I'm hearing some good and not so good things about Victoria. If the state coaches are discouraging leaping then that's probably one of the reasons.

Yeah there is real issues here in Vic. I coach club level and have coached at State Champs level and been part of several gold medal winning teams and its sad to say but I'm only interested in coaching a club level now as the politics and the lack of positive attitudes here in Softball just ruins the experience. I take my club teams each year to Adelaide for their labour day comp and also to Canberra for Australia day comp and this has seen our juniors really develop. Most the kids don't want to play Reps or State currently as they don't enjoy the way the teams are managed.

I have been invited to get involved in Vic development but just don't want the headaches that come with been ethical. Vic softball is a reflection of whats happening at Association level here, its all about quick fixes and just trying to take short cuts to try and win games but no patience or desire to do the hard yards and develop and build again.

Have met some people from WA and they have been good softball people. Had the pleasure of playing with and against Neal Dalpero and what a champion player and person he is I must say. Wish we had people like him over here driving softball...

Earlier this year my girls played in Canberra Australia day comp and WA had a development team in the under 15s there but we were in a different pool so didn't get to play them. That's the only comp I have seen WA team at so I cant say if I know whether their girls are hopping/ leaping but it would be good to see some other girls doing it as I worry my girls are stuck been the pioneers of this. We have played NSW development teams, SA development teams and also play Canberra squads and I haven't seen any other girls yet pitching with their foot breaking from the ground.

Neal is the nicest guy. Men and women are really segregated over here but my club is involved with the men's so got to know a lot of the guys.

I know most of the U15 team and some decent quality there. Of the two main pitchers they both leap.
