she was taught to push the ball downward with biggest circle possible. so her palm is behind the ball. The palm is facing downward as it is coming from 9:00 o clock position.

You have told us why she isn't gaining speed. The position of the ball is critical at that point. The ball should be facing 3rd base, coming down the circle and at at release.

It is not a push down. It is a pull and there is a big difference.

Most pitchers figure it out, if left to their own devices. I was shocked to finally she pics of my daughter and videos. I thought she was pitching incorrectly. Then, I started studying the science of the windmill and she had figured out the correct motion, herself.

Run from the current pc. Take matters into your own hands. Follow boardmembers IR drills and his posts on the arm circle, ball positions. If you fix it the speed will come.

Eastcoast, I'm not a PC, and I'm not an expert by any means, but there's a lot going on in that motion that needs attention. 40 mph with that motion means her arm has to be moving 40mph. She's not using her lower body at all, and there is no whip. Don't give up by any means. Throwing 40MPH with her existing mechanics is a tribute to her athletecism. Find a new PC or embark on the journey yourself. It's a harsh reality, but you're wasting your money every time you send her to that PC if she's doing that during her sessions and the PC is allowing it.

If she's been pitching that way for as many years as you indicate, she's going to have to completely STOP all full motion pitching. She needs to re-learn. Start with the I/R in the classroom thread that's a sticky at the top of the pitching forum and teach her how to throw a softball underhand with the proper mechanics. Don't let her throw a single pitch for weeks. Instead, concentrate on playing catch using the proper mechanics. At the same time, you can start to work on the lower half as long as no pitches are thrown. She needs to learn to power off the rubber. Right now all she does is erect herself from a squat and step forward with no momentum. It's a tough fix on a forum, but if you really want to get it right, keep posting and you'll get all the help you need from the folks on this forum.

The physical transformations that girls go through from 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U is tremendous and can have a big impact on how your DD pitches. It is way to early to give up on her, and just because she was a flame throwing phenom at 8U does not mean she will be at every age group.

JAD, I would argue that the only reason she was a fireballer at the younger age is due to her natural athletic ability. That's the good part. The bad part is that she's actually gone backwards in progression. That's solely on the instruction. This kid would have been better off if she never took a pitching lesson if she does in that video what she was taught by a pitching instructor.

Only run through video I still have after 7 computer crashes since 1999.

Hal, I have one word for you to live by. "Backups"

Buy yourself an external hard drive and copy all of your important data to it so you will have access to it WHEN you have a crash again, not IF.

There are programs out there that will do a weekly data backup for you and you can schedule them to do the backup at night unattended, automatically. The little bit of time it takes to set it up pales in comparison to what it takes trying to recover from a hardware, software or virus disaster.

Without any leg drive or resistance, you really can't correct the arm circle or follow through with that squat going on.
Please put the radar gun away.

Why put the gun down. The gun is the reason this guy asked for help. His quest for speed is gonna improve his DD mechanics.
